Undergraduates Required documents

1 Scan of non-Norwegian passport or ID card

Please note that only the ID-page is required. Name the pdf file passport or id card.

2 Documentation of name change (if applicable)Documentation of name change must be uploaded if your name appears different in any document. Name the pdf file name change.

3 Documentation of English language proficiency

Documentation of English language proficiency must be documented by vitnemål or kompetansebevis from Norwegian upper Secondary school or an internationally recognised English language proficiency test.

NB:-  Other Countries stated below are to apply in the mentioned format using the chosen programme (be it Undergraduates, Masters and PhD) as the title for document upload.

If you have completed education from Afghanistan, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Iraq, Yemen, Liberia, Libya, Sierra Leone or Somalia, you must apply for recognition of your education from NOKUT before you can apply for admission to the University of Oslo.

NOKUT has a specific recognition procedure for persons without verifiable documentation (the UVD-procedure).

Masters Degree Required documents

1. Final bachelor’s degree certificate(s)A scanned copy of the original document must be uploaded.

If you have not yet received a final bachelor’s degree diploma you must upload a Success Certificate/Attestation of results. It must be clear from your transcript when the degree was conferred.

PhD

If you hold a master’s degree you should also upload your original master’s degree diploma as well as the bachelor’s degree diploma.Note: We do not accept Success Certificate(s)/Attestation(s) of results older than 5 years.Name your pdf file(s) bachelor / master.

Note: In addition, you must upload a scanned copy of your transcript. However, only applications with transcripts that are sent directly to the Office of Admission and Student Exchange will be considered. The University of Oslo always verifies submitted credentials with the issuing school/institution. If we are unable to verify your credentials, you will not be offered admission.

Admission to UiO is highly competitive. Approximately 5 % of international applicants are granted admission.

It is very important to note that Applicants who are not native English speakers must document their proficiency in English by taking an internationally recognised English test. Schedule your test early enough for the results to arrive within the application deadline.

Applicants from English-speaking Africa, or applicants with a degree taught in English from India, Pakistan or the Middle East are not exempt from submitting an English language test.
